remains of the weekend...
I have a paltry 2 teams remaining in one of the four regions...pathetic. Talking with some friends, though, I'm not as bad off as I thought. Especially after the demise of Wisconsin & UT.
I didn't get much accomplished this weekend. We had a family dinner, Friday night, at my grandma's house. Always fun and interesting to see what's going on with everyone. I spent the rest of the weekend watching games, reading a few books and catching up on some episodes of ROME on the DVR.
When the series first began, I wasn't really interested in the Caesar/Brutus/Mark Antony storylines. I was more intrigued by the story of Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo. In the past few episodes, that has flipped, and I'm much more interested in the politics and deceit in the Gaius Octavian and Antony storyline. The actor, James Purefoy, that plays Mark Antony is outstanding. The series finale is next Sunday, and should be great. Sorry to see it go, but Entourage and The Sopranos will be back next month.
I just had Wimbledon on the background and heard this David Gray song, a favorite, that I'd somehow forgotten about.
This Year's Love:
This year's love had better last
Heaven knows it's high time
And I've been waiting on my own too long
But when you hold me like you do
It feels so right
I start to forget
How my heart gets torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Feeling like you can't go on
Turning circles when time again
It cuts like a knife oh yeah
If you love me got to know for sure
Cos it takes something more this time
Than sweet sweet lies
Before I open up my arms and fall
Losing all control
Every dream inside my soul
And when you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet
This year's love had better last
This year's love had better last
So whose to worry
If our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don't you know this life goes on
And won't you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet
This year's love had better last
This year's love had better last
This year's love had better last
This year's love had better last
