my weekend...

Friday: watched Flight of the Conchords episodes and in general enjoyed having 1/2 day off...then headed to Wild West to see The Ryans...or The Running Up the Tab Tour...or The Ryan on Ryan Tour.

The show was a lot of fun...the crowd blew. We got to the bar a little early, around 10, and drank with the RT boys for a little while in the back bar. (This wasn't difficult, given there were maybe 40-50 people in the place.)Then they scattered to get ready for the show, so we hung with RJ for a little while and Cody Banks. I told him now he's just trying to confuse people...moving from one Ryan to the other. Tag was sitting in with them this night, it's always good to see him. He's one of the funniest people you can pass the time with. It helps that he has an unhealthy obsession with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, too.

RJ closed out the night, since it was a sort of a hometown show for him. The rest of the night was spent trying to keep others out of trouble...fighting a losing battle, there. LOL We almost got stuck in an elevator, missed the recovery room, and, in general, had a great time.

I woke at the early hour of one o'clock, Saturday. Whoo...not good. I spent the day watching football, football and more football. Tech continues to amaze me with their lack of defense. I could hear my dad complaining from 30 miles away. I know there were some happy OSU fans in town, though... I was ecstatic about the rout of Tulsa the night before by OU. They look really good this year, not that they've played a proven team, yet. I hope the winning continues.

There was some debate as to how early we should head out to the music festival that night. In the end, we decided to head out around 8:30. Aside from having to park a few more blocks away than usual, it was a relatively good night. The Cross Canadian Ragweed show was good (but not as good as their show in Idaho...or even RDR). The crowd, in general, blew, again (sensing a theme?). The highlight of the Ragweed set was the encore. They played Buddy Holly's "Oh, Boy" with....Joe Ely. It was great!

The Blue Light was one in/one out at this time...I snuck in the back door and witnessed an AWESOME set by Johnny Cooper, who just makes me happy. The place was packed with people actually loving the show and letting him know it. It was his first time to play the BL, and I can't wait until he makes a return visit. The Ragweed crew went to Bash's to see Stephanie Briggs, but I was more than happy to miss out on that cluster.... Nothing could have topped J. Cooper's show or the energy from the crowd.
