busy week

There are tons of things going on this week, just a sampling:

* Writing a reply brief
* Mom's birthday
* Writing another brief
* Randy/Wade show
* Gathering info on a civil case that is a MESS
* Graduation party
* Graduation
* My sister's birthday

I had a fantastic time at Melissa and Travis' wedding a few weeks ago. I have some pictures of the day, and if I get some free time I'll upload them. It was fantastic to see everyone there. The rehearsal dinner was a good time, and the wedding day itself couldn't have been better. The only thing I would have changed? Maybe the number of patron shots or that adios mf'er drink...no, definitely that red shot. I had to give it away after taking a sip.

Wednesday, May 13

I just finished up with the discovery phase of one of my cases, so I'm taking a break this morning. Here's how I've passed the time thus far:

* watched diggnation, the full hour, with the intent to watch only the first 5 minutes...damn kevin rose.

* trolled facebook

* checked movie times (with no intent to see something until next week)

* searched for new books on Amazon (I just finished This One is Mine - drama/comedy - better than most television shows)

* searched for new movies on Netflix to add to the queue (I know I'm 6 months behind, but I just saw Milk. WOW)

* skimmed Twitter

* emailed Jeanne pointless and random links, as usual

* realized I need to pay a visit to OKC, I miss it

* listened to some new mp3s, I'm not on the Passion Pit bandwagon just yet

* caught up on Spencer Tweedy's blog (Yes, Jeff Tweedy's son. His writing belies his age. How cool is it that his dad sang "Forever Young" for him at his Bar Mitzvah?)

I guess I should get to work this afternoon. I'm counting down the hours until the LOST finale, Macon Greyson tomorrow night, and road trip Friday!

Friday, May 8

It's been a pretty hectic week at work, a series of small things here and there that have to be tended to immediately. That means I haven't had a single day go as planned. Oh well, nothing disastrous happened. That's a plus.

I did, however, completely forget about doing something for a cousin (not work-related), and just realized it last night. Yeah, I said I'd go over and try to help out Monday! Must. call. today.

Cinco de Mayo found me at the Blue Light for the recording of Charlie's cd. It should turn out great. It was fun to see them and hear a new song or two. I'd missed seeing the full band. There were a lot of familiar faces out (pro and con). LOL OH - most exciting of all, Charlie has actual merch! The incredulous text message replies from that bit of news were hilarious.

Random funny from the week: Brett Michaels and Lisa Rinna = twins

I was tempted to head back out Wednesday night to catch Charlie play an acoustic show, but wasn't motivated enough to actually make it. I stayed home and watched LOST and Dot the i, instead.

The arts festival last weekend was a good way to pass the time. I found tons of things I wanted...nothing I actually needed. I bought a present for a friend, watched my niece dance and then, headed out to the depot district for a project.

This weekend, I'll be around town again. My plans include: Tech grad party, Mother's Day, and Stoney LaRue and Bo Cox show. :)
